Arkansas Flight Schools

If you study at an Arkansas flight school, rest assured that you are studying in a state rich in aviation history. The Walnut Ridge Flying School was one of seven Army pilot schools established to prepare for the expansion of World War II fighters. Between 1945 and 1946 an estimated 10,000 to 12,000 warplanes were flown to Walnut Ridge for storage and sale after strenuous use.

Students at an Arkansas flight school must plan around the weather to get their flying in.  The mean number of clear days per year is approximately 120. In Little Rock, Arkansas the mean number of days with appreciable precipitation is 103.

There is more than one Arkansas flight school to choose from, but much of what you will see when you're flying beneath cloud cover will be the same. Arkansas features an abundance of forest which covers more than half of the state. You can fly out of airports in cities such as Little Rock and Fort Smith.
