New Mexico Flight Schools

There are several places to choose from when you are looking for a New Mexico flight school. Blue Feather Aero Flight Training operates out of the Dona Ana County Airport at Santa Teresa, just 10 miles west of El Paso, Texas. Blue Feather is an FAA Part 61-approved flight school. This means students are allowed to progress and train as their own pace, schedule, and budget allows. Blue Feather also offers an introductory flight lesson with a certified flight instructor for just $49.95.
Another New Mexico flight school is called the Mesa Development Pilot Program and is run out of the San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico. Graduates of the Primary Program will earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Aviation Technology, as well as whichever pilot certification is completed.

Mesa Development also offers a 5-month advanced program called the Professional Airline Career Enhancement (PACE) designed to take low-hour pilots to the next level. To qualify you must have 200 flight hours, an acceptable driving record, and choose to certify in either ‘Instrument, Commercial-Multi Engine Land’, or ‘Instrument, Commercial-Single Engine Land.’ After successful completion of the program, PACE culminates in a guaranteed job interview with the Mesa Group for a First Officer position.
